Anime Articles and Award in the same sentence. I am just as shocked.

His posts are likely to incite discussions because he brings a lot of interesting points when he reviews series. You can also check out his answers to his 11 questions right here. So go check him out.

That’ll be all for the rules and now let’s get to answering the questions:
1- What Made You Want To Start A Blog
Ever since I was in high school, my friends and I, well those of them who watched anime, loved to discuss episodes of our favorite series on a daily basis. When I went to college however, I didn’t make friends right away, even those I managed to befriend did not watch anime. So all of the conversations that I was naturally dying to have after a good, strong episode of my favorite series, I just kept them to myself. Until, well my body couldn’t take it anymore, whenever I was in the shower, instead of creating fake arguments or singing like a normal person, I’d simulate a conversation in my head about anime. Long story short, this blog was born out of the desire to talk about anime to other people that enjoy it.
2 – Is There A Story Behind The Name Of Your Blog
Anime Articles? Not really. WordPress kind of suggested it to me and I went with it. SirMeliodas? A little bit. You see when I started writing I thought my actual name was way too basic for an anime blog, and at the time that I was putting the blog together I was binge watching Seven Deadly Sins dubbed. I usually go for subs but for some reason I was watching it dub. One thing that stuck with me throughout the show was the amount of time Princess Elizabeth was constantly calling Meliodas “Sir Meliodas” So because it was already in my head, I decided to go with it, it also helped me channel the anime boy inside of me.
3 – Do You Think You’ll Still Be Blogging In Five Years?
The urge of conversation is too much to hold it in. The thing is, I’ve made some really cool friends here in the anime blogosphere, and when good anime come out every season it’s fun to read their perspective and even start a conversation in the comments. So I yes I am very likely to keep blogging.
4 – Is There Any Other Medium You’d Like To Try
Medium as in platforms to discuss anime? I’ve thought about it. I really enjoy watching Youtube videos about anime, but making and keeping up a Youtube channel requires a lot, and I feel like it’s more about following trends than creating content you truly love or finding a compromise in between. Here on WP, it’s a little different, yes writing about popular topics will skyrocket stats, but I find that writing about topics you care about that aren’t mainstream are still given attention either by a small, engaging following, or by other bigger bloggers bringing attention to your post via their own blog. I think this would be more difficult to achieve on Youtube. The anime community on WP is different, I am very comfortable here and on social media such as Twitter.
5 – What Anime Would Best Describe You
Many times I’ve read that question and their answers on other bloggers’ site and thought to myself what if I was ever asked that question, what would I answer? Well now is the time to find it.
The problem arises from the answer not being a single anime and the fact that my repertoire is quite limited. But one choice that covers a lot is
FREE! Iwatobi Swim Club.
I know, not what you expected. But my personality is pretty much all 5 main characters. Plus in the tone of the show and how it grows from season 1 to 3 there is something about it that would make someone that knows me say something like “I think he would really like this anime for some reason.”
So there you have it.
6 – What Was The Last Anime You Dropped
This one is fairly easy, Fairy Gone. I’ll link my final review post for this anime. The show was very boring and it never got itself together. The show failed to establish a connection between the audience and the cast and it gives you suspenseful situations as if you care about what happens to the character. I think my reviews stop til episode 5 because I couldn’t take anymore of this nonsense, especially since Attack on Titan and Demon Slayer were out, didn’t want to ruin my weekend with an episode of Fairy Gone.
7 – What Anime Surprised You For Whatever Reason
Well, it was Free! yet again.
When I first started watching anime, if it wasn’t fantasy, I didn’t want it. Genres like Slice of Life, Sports or Comedy to me were anime that I’d never watch because I thought they would be super boring. I was used to anime like Naruto, Bleach and Fairytail, so my expectations for any anime had to be along the lines of these. When an anime didn’t have any similarities to these in its genres, I’d automatically cancel it.
However, then came a time I was binge watching pretty dark, sad and dramatic anime such as Tokyo Ghoul and the likes. I felt way too gloomy and needed to binge something brighter and that’s when I decided to dive into comedy and slice of life genres. After I discovered Free! I loved it and went on to watch Haikyuu, Yuri on Ice and many others and finally broke free from my own walls, which was amazing because I discovered so many amazing series.
I was very surprised I could enjoy Free! as much as I did and the impact it had on opening my mind to try new things especially since it wasn’t a fantasy type with monsters and super powers.
8 – What Is Your Second Favorite Anime
FullHunterTitanGami. Does that count?
Yet again another question I cannot answer with just one answer. The thing is I’ve thought to myself what are my all time favorites in order of 1 to 10 or so, I couldn’t do it. Putting an anime under another one made it feel like it was a little less valuable or less enjoyable than the ones on top, and that wasn’t true, they each had their own special impact on me. Which is why I classify them as my All-Time Favorites with no particular order.
But for the sake of this post, I will have to dissect the above word into one selection.
I’ll go with Noragami.
9 – Do You Listen To Anime Music Outside Of Watching Anime? If So, What Is Your Favorite Song
Absolutely! My favorite songs vary all the time, but at the moment it’s Touch Off by Uverworld, I don’t think I need to explain this one.
10 – Have You Ever Admitted To Liking Anime And Got A Funny Response?
Yes ! Apparently, I tend to appear as a regular person that has his life figured out. One thing I know is that I walk and dress with all the confidence in the world to make sure I grab the day with the right attitude, I guess that appears a little daring and bold to a lot of people, and I guess they don’t associate the type of person they think I am with someone who watches anime. So whenever I say I watch anime, people are surprised and give me the “You watch anime?!” I have to say it’s usually if not always other anime watchers that give me this reaction as other people never bring up the topic and I don’t either.
I remember being around my coworkers in college and they started talking about Attack on Titan and I made a comment, the room went silent and everyone stared at me in surprise followed by the above reaction. They were understandably very excited about it but it’s most of the time a surprise at first.
11- Which Would Be Worse, Zombie Apocalypse or Vampire Apocalypse.
I love this question. My answer is pretty straightforward, a Zombie Apocalypse would be just that an apocalypse. Zombies eat and tear through people like meat and they revive as that same undead thing that killed them, absolutely not.
A Vampire Apocalypse however I am game and ready ! Let me tell you I would be the first to get bitten just so I could turn. I would hopefully be an elegant, fancy vampire with some cool powers, like Kaname Kuran or Raizel.
It’s over already, naniwhat? I really enjoyed doing this, it made me dig a lot in my mind to find the accurate answers and I hope I can curate some good questions for the people I’m about to nominate.
This was a fun, first time experience for me, and I hope you all tag along, but then again it’s a matter of preference, so don’t feel obliged to do this.
